LSx V8/6 adapter installation

Chevrolet 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, LSx engines w/ TH350, 700R4, 4L60, 4/5/6 speed transmission.

For replacing a SB Chevy V6 or V8 engine with an LSx V8 engine.

Parts included

Pair #10710 LSx engine adapters.

Pair # 10715 LSx engine adapters.

4 Flat head bolts.

4 Hex head bolts w/ lock washers.

Parts needed;

The original style 3 bolt engine mounts for your chassis.

TH 350, 700R4, TH400 & some 4L60 transmissions may require special crank adapter and flex plate. 4 / 5 / 6 speed use stock or aftermarket LSx flywheel.

For max oil Pan clearaance use Cadillac CV pan.

Stock or remote oil filter may be used.

Installation procedure.

1. Remove Hood. Mark and disconnect all wires, hoses, linkage, etc.

2. Drain fluid responsibly, remove radiator.

3. Remove existing engine. You may also remove transmission if needed.

4. Clean engine compartment.

5. Loosen frame mount bolts if accessible.

6. Note adapters have two set of engine mount holes. Fig A

Position A, will put the rear of block in the same position as stock.

Position B, moves the engine 1/2" forward.

Transmission cross member should have enough adjustment available.

7. Bolt the applicable adapter to the engine per Fig A

8. Bolt the original 3 bolt engine mounts to the adapter

Leave all bolts slightly loose, till engine is sitting on frame mounts.

9. Check all clearances, then tighten all engine mounting bolts.

You may need to use an engine spacers # 10702.

Use transmission spacer #10718 to improve drive line angle.
