windage tray. Trim for oil pickup tube. |

|
Preparation |
|
Used
pans should be extensively cleaned. Solvent dip tank, Spray cabinet, best
would be heat chamber. Remove baffle for cleaning. Reinstall before
modifying. |
|
Remove
pan gasket by carefully drilling out the small rivets holding it on. |
|
|
|
Layout for cutting. |
|
Securely
clamp to cutting / welding table. Minimum of eight (8) places |
|
Measure
from the pan rail, down Max .880". Min 8.75 Set your mill to cut for this height. |
|
Measure from front
pan bolt holes back 8.375" Fig A |
|
Measure 6.125 inches
forward from rear cut. |
|
|
Mill off this section. |
|
|
|
Assembly |
|
Place rear plate
against sump. Set in bottom plate. Should drop in, do not force. |
|
Tack weld all
corners first. Stitch weld to prevent warpage. |
|
Trim , weld in
trapzoid piece, center front. |
|
Use solvent to test
for leaks. Mark any leaks & reweld any leaks, |
|
Remove baffle,
clean pan and baffle, install baffle. |
|
Pan is ready to be
installed. |
|
