Chevrolet LSx V8 with TH350, 700R4, TH400, 2004R,
4/5 speed transmission. |

|

Transmission cushion. #

Transmission cushion bolt
kit. 10540 / 10545 |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Two shims are
included to compensate for frame spread or additional steering clearance, If
needed or desired. Do not disassemble engine adapters. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Installation
procedure. |
|
|
|
|
|
| 1. |
Mark hood hinge position
and remove hood. |
|
|
|
| 2. |
Mark and disconnect all
wires, hoses, linkage, etc. |
|
|
|
| 3. |
Drain fluids responsibly,
remove radiator. |
|
|
| 4. |
Note fuel line position.
May need to reroute it before installing engine. |
|
|
| 5. |
Remove existing engine and
transmission. |
|
|
|
| 6. |
Completely clean engine
compartment. |
|
|
|
| 7. |
Open up
tunnel as per fig. A and right side at firewall. |
|
|
|
| 8. |
Remove heater core cover,
rework for clearance. |
|
|
|
| 9. |
Modified oil pan and oil
pickup tube should be installed. |
|
|
|
| 10. |
Install transmission
adapter kit. #10530 or #10535 per adapter instructions. |
|
| 11. |
Install
engine adapters to block. short on right side, use factory bolts or bolt kit
#10521. 10mm x 1.5 x 25mm bolts, lock washers, Torque to 37 Lb/Ft. |
|
|
|
|
|
| 12. |
Install transmission
cushion. |
|
|
| 13. |
Remove water pump and
lower pulleys. Recommended. |
|
|
| 14. |
Install engine &
transmission as a unit. Check for tunnel clearance. Min 1/4" |
|
| 15. |
Frame brackets are
adjustable fore and aft. |
|
|
|
| 16. |
Install transmission
cross member. Tail shaft will be 7/16" - 1/2" to the right. |
|
| 17. |
When engine
is installed, leveled, Torque adapter to frame bolts to 38 Lb/Ft, large bolt
to 65 Lb/Ft |
|
|
|
| 18. |
Check for tie rod end to
pan clearance. Readjust turning stops if needed. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
