LUV V6 Installation
Chevrolet 4.3L V6 SB engines with TH350, 700R4, 4 speed transmission.
Parts needed;
Engine adapters; 122378 transmission mount.
72-75 #10215, 76-80 #10210 Use stock 4.3L starter & flywheel. (DL6416S)
2 x 122267 or 122142 engine mounts. 19” x 22” Chevy style alum radiator.
Engine adapter bolt kit; Fan, 15”/17” (Staggered seven blade)
pn 10220 for 72 -75 pn 10225 for 76 - 80 Stock oil filter.
Transmission adapters; Oil cooler adapter can be used.
TH350/4spd # 10230, 700R4 # 10235 Lower hose Dayco M30  (May vary)
10240 bolt kit, for 10230 trans adapter. Upper hose Dayco M21.  (May vary)
10245 bolt kit, for 10235 trans adapter.
Installation procedure.
 1.      Remove Hood. Mark and disconnect all wires, hoses, linkage, etc.
 2.      Drain fluid responsibly, remove radiator.
 3.      Remove existing engine and trans. Clean engine compartment.
 4.      Trim for radiator. Fig A.
 5.   Remove emergency brake nylon wheel from bracket on fire wall.
 6.   Drill new hole back at the same angle, back 1” and to the right ½”. Fig. B
 7.   Use the spacer from the wheel only with the cable installed.
       A small sliding door roller may be used.
 8.      A 1” indentation is needed in center of tunnel. Fig. C
 9.    #10210 Install engine adapters  marked R/L. Use bolt kit pn 10225   Fig D.
       Boxed section should be mounted down and to the rear.
10.   #10215 Install engine adapter, mark holes in lower section on frame, drill 3/8".
       duplicate on other side. Use 1" x 3/8" bolts with nylock nuts on bottom. Fig E.
11.      Install engine & transmission cushions. Use bolt kit pn 10225 / 10240 or 10245
12.    Install engine & transmission as a unit. Guide over torsion bar crossmember.
13.   Install transmission adapter. Start all bolts then tighten.
14.    Use stock heater hoses, control valve & cable. Hoses may be shortened at firewall.
        Engine mounts are slotted for slight fore and aft movement for clearance.
