72 ½ - 79 Datsun PL620 V6 Engine Instructions
Parts required
Engine adapters # 10105 Transmission cushion #122378
Engine cushions 2 #122267 Oil pan may need modified for steering clearance
Transmission adapter TH350 / 4 spd 10135 Electric fuel pump
Transmission adapter 700R4 # 10130  Headers # 10160
Installation
1. Remove hood, mark, disconnect wires, linkage, and hoses. Drain fluids responsibly, etc.
2. Remove radiator, old engine and transmission.
3. Remove cross member that ties lower front suspension. Four large bolts. (Save)
4. Carefully remove hydraulic lines from firewall. Clutch master and lines can be discarded.
5. Unbolt and remove heater. Can be reinstalled with modification.
6.A TH350, drill 12mm hole 1 1/4" back from front bolt hole on cross member frame bracket. Trim off back side of stock bracket. Install stock cross member using the front cross member bolt in the newly drilled hole. Weld pn 10135 for rear cross member bolt on each side of frame. Open up stock transmission holes for GM trans cushion.
 6.B 700R4 transmission, drill a 3/8” hole between frame rails, ½” above bottom lip of torsion bar support cross member. Using the transmission adapter to mark, level and drill the other two holes, front and back.. Fig A.
7. Remove stock engine mount cushions, drill out the threaded holes on each side, 3/8”. Fig B.
8. Use a large 5# hammer, push back the center of the firewall till you have 30” from the back of the radiator core support. 75 – 79  33”. It should taper out to the stock position on each side. The taper will be longer on the passenger side. Fig C. Be careful of the windshield!
99 Next open up the bell housing area. Fig D.
10. Cut off two ears on trans bell housing. Install modified oil pan, engine cushions, fuel pump block off plate, transmission, Connect detent cable, install vacuum line if needed and fill tube.
11.  Install engine and transmission, using a high angle, swing trans over torsion bar cross member.
12. Install trans cushion cross member or adapter, do not tighten.
13. Install engine adapters, slide from bottom up, drivers side first. Bottom is taller than top. Check for minimum of 1/4" steering clearance. Use spacer plates and or modify pan if needed.
14.  If the mounts do not fit, check for interference, remove engine and work the firewall bell housing.
15. Install front cross member, brake lines, matching to new firewall contour. Best to fabricate new lines and run on the frame. Use only steel tubing and double flares.
16.  Stock oil sending unit can be retained by using a 1/8” pipe nipple and union. Temperature sending unit can be install using a Stewart Warner adapter # 90567. File off the lip of the stock-retaining nut.
